The symptom complex which consists of bilateral uveitis, alopecia, poliosis, vitiligo and dysacousia is known as Vogt -Koyanagi-Harada¢¥s Disease. This disease has been seen occasionally in Orient (especially in Korean, Japanese) but extremely rarely in caucasian, and there has been no report of the complete hearing evaluation of this disease found in the literature.
We have performed all available hearing evaluation (pure tone audiometery, speech audiometery, auditory adaptation test, SI SI (Short Increment Sensitivity Index), caloric test) in three cases out of 11 Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada¢¥s Disease visited Taegu, Dongsan Presbyterian Hospital until end of 1963 from 1960.
The hearing disturbances of our cases were proved to be of the cochlear type.
